Posting Guidelines
To post a message to the list, subscribers should send an email to sswg@list.conbio.org, using the email address with which they subscribed to the discussion list.
Messages should be in plain text format (not html, as these get automatically scrubbed from the daily digest and from the archives) and should not contain attachments or embedded images.
Messages should be less than 40 KB in size.
Messages should have a clear, descriptive subject line.
Discussions and debates should be contextualized, and backed up, by evidence.
Messages should be of relevance and interest to SSWG and its aims. The discussion list should not be sent bulk mail messages through cc’ing or being one of many “to’s”, although forwarding relevant messages from other lists is appropriate.
Comments shall remain focused on the substance of the argument and shall not reflect on/judge the person(s) presenting the argument.
Messages that are abusive or threatening will not be posted.
Promotional messages advertising business interests will not be posted.
Cite all quotes, references and sources; posters are responsible for respecting copyright and license agreements.
Questions to the moderator should be sent directly to the discussion list email address (SSWG.discussion.list@gmail.com) and not posted to the list.
List Privacy
Private correspondence should not be forwarded or replied to on the list without permission from the author (or the recipient, as appropriate).
Before sharing any contact or other details of third parties, please ensure that the sender wanted their details posted and archived.
The list moderator reserves the right to not post any messages that do not comply with the above criteria.
Violation of the above guidelines will result in the rejection of messages; repeated violations will result in suspension from posting to the list.
