Songbird Banding Workshop

Job Type: part-time temporary position

Location: Idaho

Posting Date: 24 Jul 14

Closing Date: 23 Oct 14

The Intermountain Bird Observatory is offering an introductory songbird banding workshop in Boise, Idaho from August 30 – September 1, 2014.

This workshop will focus on songbird ID, banding, sexing, ageing, and safe handling techniques. We will also learn standardized monitoring techniques, data collection, how to set-up and take-down mist nests, and an introduction on how to safely extract birds from mist nets. We developed this workshop for folks with little to no songbird banding experience. This workshop would be a great opportunity for students, birders, naturalists, and anyone interested in learning more about songbird identification or banding.

We have FOUR spots remaining. The workshop fee is $300.
