Grassland Bird Research Technician

B.S. degree in biology, wildlife management or related field. Applicants with a graduate degree will receive special consideration. Knowledge of western grassland birds (by sight and sound) and radio telemetry experience are preferred. Good eyesight is required to accurately identify unique color bands. Successful applicant(s) will be attentive to detail and thorough with respect to data collection and entry. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Must be able to work alone with limited direct supervision, minimal cell coverage at times, and possess a valid state driver's license from any U.S. state. Successful applicant(s) should be in good physical condition capable of working long irregular hours in hot or cold and dry conditions.

Location: southwestern Nebraska and northeastern Colorado
Compensation: $560 - $580/week depending on experience, plus free on-site housing in Kimball, NE (no smoking, no pets). No overtime or holiday pay, no benefits. Technician(s) will be expected to work holidays that fall during the work week. Typically 5 days (M-F) with weekends (S and Su) off but may change as field duties require.
