Assistant Director for Cooperative Demographic Bird-banding Programs

The Institute for Bird Populations (IBP) seeks an Assistant Director to provide strategic direction, leadership, and fundraising for the Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship (MAPS) program, a continent-wide network of bird banding stations operated by public agencies, private organizations, and individual bird banders, and est
ablished and coordinated by IBP. Depending on the skills and experience of the selected candidate, the Assistant Director may additionally fulfill this role for the Monitoreo de Sobrevivencia Invernal (MoSI) program, a network of independently operated winter bird-banding stations across Mexico, Central America, and northern South America that was also established by IBP. This is a full-time, one-year appointment beginning
in September 2014, but we hope to extend it indefinitely if funding is available. The position is based in Point Reyes Station (Marin County), California, a beautiful, semi-rural area that has great outdoor recreation opportunities and is reasonably close to San Francisco Bay Area urban centers. The Assistant Director will work closely with other staff members and will report to IBP’s Executive Director.
