Scientific Societies Oppose Efforts to Cut Endangered Species Act Funding

July 25, 2011. Today the Society for Conservation Biology, The Wildlife Society, the Ecological Society of America, and the American Statistical Association wrote the leaders of the House of Representatives urging them to vote for an amendment to the 2012 fiscal year federal budget that would ensure that funding continues to be appropriated to place species on the list of threatened and endangered species under the Endangered Species Act.
