Hotel

Description

 

Crowne Plaza

Only a few minutes’ walk from the SECC, the four-star Crown Plaza Glasgow overlooks the River Clyde and is the closest hotel to our venue.

It has a leisure club with a pool and spa, as well as a maritime-inspired restaurant and bar. Each bedroom has air conditioning, a cable TV with pay movies and a minibar. Some rooms have a sitting area, while all have 24 hour room service and city or river views. Club Motivation has a sauna, gym and steam room, with a range of relaxing spa treatments offered in the Isis Beauty Salon.

The hotel’s One restaurant serves a creative menu of seasonal Scottish cuisine with a backdrop view of the river. The relaxed Quarterdeck Bar stocks a range of whiskies.

 

Hilton Garden Inn

The Hilton Garden Inn sits on the bank of the River Clyde just two minutes’ walk from the SECC.

Its award-winning City Café Bar and Grill serves contemporary dishes made using locally sourced, quality ingredients. Guests can dine on the terrace or enjoy a drink in the sleek bar. Alternatively there is the Pavilion Pantry serving food and drinks 24 hours a day.

Each stylish room includes a desk, comfy chair and a mini fridge. All rooms also have a modern bathroom and some have lovely river views. The spacious gym features modern equipment. The Hilton Garden Inn also has guest laundry facilities.

 

Campanile

The 3 star Campanile Glasgow is within five minutes walking distance of the SECC and the new Scottish Hydro Arena. There is free parking, free Wi-Fi and two train stations close by.

Campanile Glasgow has modern facilities and contemporary rooms with private shower rooms. Also featured in each room are a satellite TV, tea/coffee-making facilities and a work area.

A hearty full breakfast buffet is available every morning, with a range of hot and cold breakfast options. The hotel restaurant serves a menu using fresh, seasonal ingredients all year round. Guests can relax in the bar, reading room and on the terrace.

 

Menzies

This AA four-star hotel features quiet, spacious, air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi, recreational facilities and on-site parking.

The Waves Health & Leisure Club has a 50ft pool, a steam room and a fully equipped gym. The Savannah Spa offers a range of therapies in 3 treatment rooms.

All rooms at Menzies Glasgow Hotel each include modern furnishings and décor, a 32-inch flat-screen TV with Sky Sports satellite channels and Formula 1 channel, a mini fridge, and free tea and coffee.

The Brasserie restaurant serves a menu prepared with seasonal ingredients. There is also a relaxing lounge bar with a range of wines and beers.

 

Marriott

This 4-star hotel is in Glasgow city centre, just a five minute train ride from the SECC. If you're walking from the Marriott to the conference, it'll take you around 20-minutes, but it's a lovely walk, along the walkway at the River Clyde.

This modern hotel has large, air-conditioned rooms each with luxury bedding, a work desk, and a large flat-screen TV with pay movies. There's also an indoor pool, steam room, sauna, gym and health & beauty spa.

The American-style Source restaurant offers international cuisine and fine wine. Chat's Bar is a more casual cafe/bar offering specialty cocktails, sandwiches and hot snacks. 24-hour room service is also available.

 

Hilton

The five-star Hilton Glasgow Hotel is located in the heart of Glasgow City Centre, which means it's a five minute train or taxi ride to the Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre. If you're walking from the centre of Glasgow to the conference you should allow yourself 20 - 30 minutes to get to the conference.  

The stylish Hilton Glasgow features contemporary bedrooms, each with an LCD TV with on-demand movies, high speed internet access and complimentary toiletries. Executive Lounge and wireless internet access is available in the meeting rooms and lobby.

Premier Inn
Argyle St

On lively Argyle Street in central Glasgow, this Premier Inn features a coffee shop and 24-hour front desk. The hotel is just a ten-minute walk from Glasgow Central Train Station.

With a stylish restaurant, the Premier Inn George Square offers a 24-hour front desk and hearty breakfasts. Argyle Street Train Station is just a ten minute walk away.

Overlooking the River Clyde, the Jury’s Inn is in the centre of the city, next to Glasgow Central Station. It offers air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen satellite TVs, 24-hour front desk, bar and restaurant.

Accommodations near Pre- and Post-Congress Events

For those attending pre- or post-Congress events being held at the University of Glasgow, Booking.com provides a list of accommodations near the university. These accomoodations, however, may not be near the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), where the main IMCC3 Scientific Program will be held 14-18 August. Please check the distance to the SECC and transportation options. 

Student Housing

There will be a limited number or dorm rooms available at University of Glasgow starting in January 2014. These accommodations tend to fill up quickly, so reserve student housing early.

Individual delegates can make their own student accommodation reservations via the University’s Residential Services online booking system. Please also note, it is not possible to pre-book a block of rooms with this service—each booking is made made purely on a subject-to-availability basis.
