HOW DO I TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THESE NEW MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS?

If you are already a member of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) and a resident of a developing country, these new features are ALREADY available to you! Simply login to the SCB Member Home area and look for the online access links for the publications on the right hand side of your Member Homepage.

Do I QUALIFY to be an SCB member? There are no nominations or requirements for joining SCB. Anyone working in the field of conservation, or in a related field, is qualified to be a member. To receive the special free online access to publications you must reside in one of the countries listed here. Once your membership is established we will ask for proof of residency to maintain free access to publications.

How do I JOIN SCB? To join SCB go here, read through the information, then choose the "CLICK HERE TO JOIN SCB!" link at the bottom of the page. You will be sent to an online form to fill out and submit--you will need a credit card to use the online form and get membership immediately. If you are a resident of a developing country, choose the SCB MEMBERSHIP ONLY option. This will give you free online access to publications automatically and immediately. You do not need to choose anything else unless you want to pay for print copies of any of the publications. If you are unable to pay the $10.00 fee for membership, we have a limited number of sponsorships available. You may apply for a sponsored membership by completing this form. You will be notified as soon as possible (within a few weeks at most) if a sponsored membership is available for you.

How do I get ONLINE ACCESS to the journals? If you are already a member of SCB and a resident of a developing country, online access is ALREADY available to you! Simply login on to http://www.conbio.org and look for the online access links for the publications on the right hand side of your Member Homepage. If you are a new member you must register your online account and set your password. Instructions to do this will come to you in a confirmation email once your membership has been processed or your sponsored membership is approved. Once you have registered your online account and set your password, simply login to your SCB Member Homepage. All publications available to you will be listed on the right hand side of the page. Look for a link near each publication that says "Online version of..." When you click the link, you will be automatically connected to the online content!
