District of Columbia Chapter
The Washington, DC Chapter was formed in 2006 when members of the Society for Conservation Biology at the annual meeting in Brazil realized that the DC area has an unparalleled concentration of conservation resources, institutions, and practitioners, but few opportunities for informal interaction between them. Since its formation the chapter has grown to more than 100 members and holds regular events to promote interaction and collaboration between the academic, non-governmental, and governmental conservation practitioners in the nation’s capital.
