LOCAL CHAPTERS OF THE SCB

Local Chapters provide a mechanism for SCB members to become involved in conservation activity at the regional level. These organizations are diverse. Some Chapters focus on a single city or campus; others cover broader geographic regions. Some Chapters draw membership primarily from students and faculty at academic institutions; others include practitioners and conservation scientists from a wider spectrum.

Efforts and activities of the Local Chapters will continue to complement and facilitate operations of the Regional Sections of SCB. Any SCB member can become active in a Chapter, a Section, or both.

Conference Activities - SCB 2008, Chattanooga, TN, USA:

Chapters Workshop, Sunday 13 July, 12:30-4:30 pm: "Capacity-Building for SCB Chapters, Part II: Empowering Environmental Problem-Solving"

Mixer with Chapter leaders and SCB Board of Governors, Sunday 13 July 6:00-7:00 pm

Chapters Information Booth Day, Tuesday 15 July (all day)

Chapters Roundtable (follow-up to Sunday Workshop), Thursday 17 July, 12-1:30 pm
