ICCB 2010 Social Events
To allow delegates some time to experience Edmonton and visit with old and new friends, several evenings have been left open. Below is a listing of scheduled social events during the Congress.
Saturday, 3 July
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Opening reception & SCB Awards Ceremony
Meet fellow delegates and reunite with old friends here, at the first official event of the Congress. The SCB will present its Distinguished Service Awards and the Edward T. LaRoe lll Memorial Award at this event, followed by a presentation by Tyler Award recipient Daniel Janzen. A reception to include light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will conclude the evening.
The reception is free for registered attendees. You must register for this event in order to obtain a complimentary ticket. You may also purchase guests tickets to this event.
Monday, 5 July - Evening Activities
Canoe float on the North Saskatchewan River
Float down the North Saskatchewan River, enjoying Edmonton's famous river valley and skyline.
Register early as there is a maximum of 36 people capacity for this ICCB exclusive booking. Canoes, paddles and life jackets are included. http://www.edmontoncanoe.com
Edmonton Queen (sternwheeler) float on the North Saskatchewan
This is another chance to enjoy Edmonton's scenic river valley on a sternwheeler. Register early - as this is an exclusive ICCB booking, a minimum of 80 and maximum of 300 people can be accommodated. Meet at the Edmonton Queen dock across the footbridge from the Shaw Conference Centre.

Student Networking Event
This is an opportunity for students from around the world to network and also learn about the conservation biology programs at the University of Alberta. Pre-registration is required. As space is limited, this event is open to students only.

Fort Edmonton Park Picnic
Step back in time and wind down at the final ICCB 2010 social event in historic Fort Edmonton Park. Interpreters will be on hand to share some of Edmonton's history. After leaving the Clerk's Quarters in the fort, walk through the Park to enjoy a barbecue dinner at the hangar. As a special treat, following dinner, a band comprised of conservation biologists will entertain you. Pre-registration is required.
