The main page for the Bboard dialog.

Post message/file

A user can post a message to start a discussion or in response to someone else's post to extend the discussion. Discussions are extended diagonally on the page with the newest posts at the bottom of the diagonal, or at any branch along the diagonal. New topics start on the left margin of the page, with the new posts at the top of the page. To reply to a post and keep the discussion organized, click on the "Post a Follow up to this Message" button when viewing a message. This will add a post in the diagonal of the discussion topic.

To start a new "thread" of a discussion, choose the "Start a new thread" link on the bulletin board, or choose "Post message/file" from the menu items on the right side of any page--remember, this will start a NEW message thread and will NOT be in a diagonal discussion thread with other messages.

Frankly, this is hard to describe but easy to see once the dialog begins. See the test posts for a sense of what this means.

Note that a post may or may not include an associated file. If you have a file (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) that is related to your post, you may associate it at the time of posting and it will be available to other Bboard users.
