Accommodations

We no longer can accept dormitory reservations. If you are registered for a dormitory room, please check in at the Joe West Hall Desk on the second floor of Joe West Hall. Joe West Hall is located at the corner of 9th Street and San Salvador Street, at 375 South 9th Street, San Jose, California, 95112. The desk is open from 7:30 A.M. to 10:30 P.M. for check in. If you arrive outside of those hours, please call (408) 795-5604 (the Joe West Hall office telephone number) and one of the staff on duty will respond to assist you.

Please note that San Jose State University staff cannot accept payment for dormitory rooms. If you have been given permission to pay for your room on site, you must bring your payment to the SCB registration desk at the San Jose Convention Center.

NOTE: as of 11 May, we are aware that our hotel blocks are filling rapidly. Reservations may not be available, or may not be available at the meeting rate, at the three hotels listed below.

For the nights of 23 June–28 June, single and double rooms may be available at the meeting rate of $125 at the Hotel Montgomery, a well-appointed hotel in downtown San Jose. Please specify that you are with the Society for Conservation Biology.

Rooms also may be available at the Larkspur Sainte Claire, another attractive hotel within easy walking distance of the Convention Center. Please indicate that you are with the Society for Conservation Biology.

In addition, meeting participants may wish to reserve a room at the Ramada San Jose, a two-star hotel approximately two blocks (a five-minute walk) from the Convention Center. A limited number of single rooms ($79 per night) and double rooms ($84 per night) are available from 23–28 June. Please indicate that you are with the Society for Conservation Biology.

We have negotiated special rates with three hotels in downtown San Jose, California for the 2006 annual meeting. To receive these discounts, please remember to specify that you are associated with the Society for Conservation Biology.

Hotel reservations must be made by 24 May 2006.
Rates are guaranteed from 20 June through 2 July 2006.
Rates are quoted per night and do not include room tax assessed by the city of San Jose,
currently 10.045%.
