Guidelines for Poster Presentations

All posters will be on display Sunday, 29 June through Wednesday, 2 July. Two separate poster sessions will be held on Monday and Tuesday evening, with half of the authors attending each session. Authors are expected to be in attendance during their assigned session to answer questions regarding their poster. There will be a reception with food and a cash bar at each of the poster sessions to encourage interaction and socializing around the posters. In addition, posters will generally be open for viewing during the following meeting days:

Sunday, 29 June, 12:00 noon - 8:00 pm
Monday, 30 June, 8:00 am - 9:00 pm
Tuesday, 1 July, 8:00 am - 9:00 pm
Wednesday, 2 July, 8:00 am - 1:30 pm

Poster presenters should set up their posters on Sunday, 29 June by 12:00 noon. All posters must be removed by 1:30 pm on Wednesday, 2 July. Posters will be organized by topic, and each poster in each session will be assigned to a numbered poster stand. The list of poster authors and their assigned stands will be available at the entrance of the poster presentation room when you arrive to set up your poster. Your poster number will also be in the program.

Each poster presentation will be allotted a 4 feet tall by 4 feet wide display area (1.22 meters by 1.22 meters). Poster boards are 4 feet high by 8 feet wide and will accommodate four posters (two posters on each side). Depending on the poster board surface, authors will be supplied with push pins or clear, removable tape for displaying their posters. No other tapes or adhesives will be permitted.

Tips for preparing posters

The title of the poster should be exactly the same as the abstract submitted with authors and institutions listed to allow for easy identification. The title should be large enough to be read from approximately 20 feet away.

Your poster should include an abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusions, and literature cited. Most data are best represented with figures rather than tables. If you use tables, they should include no extraneous information. Text should be easily readable from a distance of 4 feet away. We recommend that you use the following MINIMUM font sizes:

Title 84 pt
Authors and addresses 42 pt
Section headings 30 pt
Text 24 pt
