The second Congress on Management of Ecosystems and Biodiversity and seventh International Convention on Environment and Development, Creating Awareness to Save the Planet, will be held 6-10 July 2009 in Havana, Cuba. The congress will focus on management of ecosystems, landscape ecology, and conservation biology; information on biological diversity; and sustainable conservation and use of biological diversity. The sixth International Symposium on Butterfly Conservation, The 2010 Target and Beyond for Lepidoptera, will be held 26-28 March 2010 at Reading University, United Kingdom. The symposium will address the target, set across Europe nearly a decade ago, of halting losses of biological diversity by 2010. Reviews of progress from the United Kingdom, Europe, and other countries around the world will be presented, as will recent scientific insights on reversing declines of species and conserving their habitats. The symposium will conclude with an analysis of future challenges, including climate change.
