UPCOMING ANNUAL MEETINGS
Plans are well underway for SCB's 2002 annual meeting, which will be held from 14-18 July 2002 and hosted by the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology at the University of Kent at Canterbury. The British Ecological Society has agreed to co-host the meeting, which has the theme of People and Conservation. Planned highlights include a concert in Canterbury Cathedral, the famous World Heritage Site. With the current outbreak of foot and mouth disease, we are pleased not to be this year's hosts, as any planned field trips would be in doubt at this stage. However, the outbreak should soon be under control, and we look forward to giving you a warm welcome to our beautiful campus next year. The August 2001 newsletter will include details of the meeting web site.
The SCB Board of Governors is soliciting proposals from organizations that would like to host the 2003 annual meeting. We particularly would like to invite proposals from the midwestern region of North America. To obtain a copy of the format for proposals email Richard Knight, knight@cnr.colostate.edu. Deadline for receipt of proposals for the 2003 meeting is 15 July 2001.
