Neotropical Conservation Biology Bulletin

NeoCons, the SCB regional bulletin for Austral and Neotropical America, will be launched in February 2001, concurrently with the publication of the year's first issue of Conservation Biology. In response to our request in the August 2000 issue of the SCB newsletter, members from eight countries suggested more than 30 names for this first SCB regional bulletin. The winner, NeoCons, was submitted by Gilberto Ríos (UNELLEZ, Venezuela), who received a year's free membership in SCB.

Contributions to NeoCons can be made in Spanish, Portuguese, French, or English, but will not be translated into the other languages. In addition to the Table of Contents of Conservation Biology in Spanish (linked to Abstracts in Spanish), NeoCons will include information regarding (1) recent publications of interest, including information on how to obtain them, (2) announcements of conferences, courses, and workshops, including information on how to apply for financial support, (3) contact information for potential funding sources for the region, (4) requests/offers of collaboration, and (5) announcements of jobs and assistantships.
