SOCIAL EVENTS

Welcoming Reception. Monday 13 July, 1700-2000. A selection of Australian drinks, light nibbles, and music. Included in the conference registration. Extra tickets for accompanying persons are A$12.

Lunches Tuesday to Thursday are basically free time. You may choose from the formal and informal dining areas in the Union Building, or from any of several food outlets in the nearby Macquarie Shopping Centre. You also may prepurchase three tickets (A$30, i.e. A$10 per day) for a sandwich, fruit, and cheese lunch to be served near the exhibits and poster area.

Aussie Barbecue. Tuesday 14 July, 2000-2300. Too jet-lagged last night? No worries, mate. Roll up yer posters in yer swag and we’ll shout youse a bonzer treat. For A$40 a head that is … fair crack of the whip!

Harbour Cruise and Awards Dinner. Thursday 16 July, 1930-2330. Aboard Vagabond Cruises’ MV Majestic. Cruise the world’s most spectacular harbour in all its nocturnal glitter, enjoy a three-course smorgasbord meal and open wine and beer bar, be in on the awards, and participate in the conservation-disc contest* all for just A$69 including bus transport from the university and back to your hotel.
