NeoCons - Neotropical Conservation Biology Bulletin

NeoCons is the regional bulletin of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) for Austral and Neotropical America. NeoCons is distributed electronically and free of cost to all interested individuals, regardless of whether they reside or not in the region of they are or not members of SCB. The purpose of NeoCons is to facilitate information exchange in order to help strengthen the discipline of conservation biology in Austral and Neotropical America.

NeoCons is published every two months and has two main sections. The first includes the table of contents of each issue of Conservation Biology in Spanish. Spanish abstracts are available for browsing, in turn, at the SCB web site. English tables of contents (including an electronic mailing service) and abstracts are already available at the Blackwell web site.

The second section of NeoCons is a compilation of information items relevant to the practice of conservation biology. Appropriate topics include:

1) recent publications of interest, including information on how to obtain them;
2) conference and course/workshop announcements, including information on how to apply for financial support;
3) contact information for potential funding sources for the region;
4) requests/offers of collaboration,
5) announcements of jobs and assistantships.

Contributions to NeoCons can be made in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French, but will not be translated to the other languages; they will be published in the language(s) that they are submitted.
