CONSERVATION COMMITTEE
Keeps the chapter informed on local, regional, national and international conservation issues. Reviews issues and submits positions/ resolutions to membership.

The Minnesota Chapter's Recommendations for the 2007 Farm Bill The 2007 Farm Bill will be one of the most important pieces of legislation affecting conservation in the U.S. this year.  Agricultural practices have a major effect on biodiversity conservation, ranging from the 'dead zone' in the Gulf of Mexico to conversion of remaining native habitats and the degradation of freshwater habitats.  In addition to organizing a symposium on the Farm Bill at our 2007 Annual Meeting, the Chapter's Conservation Committee has completed recommendations for advancing biodiversity conservation in the 2007 Farm Bill.  Chapter representatives have already discussed these recommendations with several legislators, and a slightly revised version of the MN SCB document was adopted by the NA Section of SCB (you can download a PDF of that version here!).   Please contact the 2005-2007 Conservation Committee Chair, Andy Holdsworth (arholdsworth@gmail.com) for more information.

Transportation and Biofuel interview with Kristen Blann - Kristen was interviewed by Phill Lindsay of MN Cable Channel 14 Twin Cities Cable Access, on a program called "Urban Visions". PROGRAM/ANNUAL MEETING COMMITTEE
Plans the annual meeting of the chapter.

COMMUNICATION AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Coordinate the communication of the chapter, both internally and externally. Act as the extension of the chapter within the academic and general public. Serve as the public face of the organization in forwarding scientific knowledge to the public.

Manages bank account.

MEMBERSHIP & NETWORKING COMMITTEE
Increases membership in MN SCB and knowledge about MN SCB among potentially interested groups. Network-building is a primary objective of this committee.

PERU SISTER CHAPTER LIASONS
Work on building a relationship with the newly forming SCB Chapter in Peru.
