Research interests: Sustainable management, ecology, and economic ethnobotany.

 

Karina Susana Apaza

Research interests: Conservation of birds, modeling of species distributions, and environmental education, particularly in protected areas and communities.

Research interests: Beetle ecology, particularly Dynastide, and sustainable management.

Vania Alejandra Conchari  

 

Member since 2000. Treasurer from 2002 to 2006. Licenciada in Biology, Department of Biology, Universidad Mayor de San Andres. Thesis title "Uso de Vicia faba como bioindicador de ozono en las ciudades de La Paz y El Alto". Currently she is working as consultant and technical assistant in projects addressing development, health, and public consultation.

Research interests: Environmental assesment, ecology, and agrobiology.

Fabiola Delgadillo

Editorial committee 2009. Members since 1999. President 2004 and 2005. Ph.D. candidate at the Departament of Biology, Saint Louis University, United States. She is currently working in her dissertation thesis addressing the effects of habitat degradation on the population ecology of Andean trees (Polylepis, Rosaceae).

Research interests: Population ecology, alpine ecology, and conservation biology.

 

Alejandra Iboya Domic

 

 

Member since 2004. Conservation Committee 2007 and 2008. Assistant researcher of the National Herbarium of Bolivia. Currently she is doing her masters at the University of Puerto Rico - Rio Piedras.

Research interests: Plant reproductive biology, Cactaceae, Loasaceae, and animals.

 

 

Nadia Paola Flores

Heidy Elizabeth López Strauss

Conservation comitee 2009. Member since 2002. Vicepresident 2006. Associate researcher of the National Herbarium of Bolivia. She has participated in projects documenting the flora and phenology of trees in the humid mountain forest, Estacion Biologica Tunquini, La Paz, Bolivia.

Research interests: Ecology, conservation biology, and environmental education.

Zulia Porcel

 

 

 

Member since 2000. Asociate researcher of Jardin Botanico de La Paz. She is currently working with  conservation biology, environmental education, and ethnobotany of cactus. Regional delegate of the Latin and Caribean Society of Cactaceae and Suculents. She is doing her undergraduate thesis with the National Herbarium of Bolivia, studying the population of Zchinopsis atacamensis in Uyuni saltflat.

Research interests: Taxonomy and conservation of Cactaceae.

 

Noemi Ruth Quispe

 

 

Member since 2008. Undergraduate of the Department of Biology, Universidad Mayor de San Andres and tesista of Herbario Nacional de Bolivia.

Research interests: Palinology of Andean moutain forests (Polylepis).

 

 

Patricia Sandoval Calderón

Current tresurer. Member since 2002. Secretary 2004 and 2005. Undergraduate student, Department of Biology, Universidad Mayor de San Andres.

Research interests: Ecology, population genetics, and physiology of hummingbirds (Trochilidae).

 

 

Vanesa Serrudo

 

 

Member since 2002. Secretary 2004 and 2005. Licenciada in Biology, Universidad Mayor de San Andres. She has studied the ecology of bats and worked on environmental education programs focused on children, teachers, and local people. Currently, she is working as assistant to estimate abundance of jaguars and large- and medium-size mammals using camera tramps and linear transects.

Research interests: Ecology, conservation biology, and environmental education.

 

María Estela Viscarra

 

 

Member since 2002.

 

Mercedes Villca

 

 

Current vicepresident. Member since 2006. Technician at Centro de Análisis Espacial, Insituto de Ecologia, Universidad Mayor de San Andres. She works developoing maps, predictive models of species distributions, and analasing satellital images.

Research interests: Global Information Systems applied to ecology and conservation biology.
