Parking
Delegates who have driven to Canterbury may park free of charge in the central University car parks, providing they obtain a parking badge at the Registration Desk. Wheel-clamping is in place for those who park in the central University car parks with a valid permit. The Visitors' car park can be used free of charge without a parking badge.

Signage
Visitors often find both the college layout, and campus signage, somewhat difficult. To ensure your easy movement around campus, please use the university's blue and white signs to get to the building you are destined for, such as Eliot College or Grimond Building. If you go into the main door of each building, indicated with an arrow on the campus map, there will be green signs with the conference logo directing you to locations within buildings, such as Eliot Lecture Theatre 2. Please do not attempt to use side entrances, as you will get very lost.

Messages
A message board will be available to post messages for other meeting delegates in the Grimond Foyer.

Computer Access
Delegates who wish can be provided with email and internet access via the University network while they attend the meeting. Delegates can apply and sign for an individual login at the Registration Desk. The Rutherford Computing Room, with 16 terminals, has been reserved for the exclusive use of the meeting. The full Microsoft Office Suite will be available plus access to email and the web via Webmail. A printer is also available, but printer credit tokens need to be obtained from the machines located in Keynes College, the Library, or the University Computing Department.

The Rutherford Computing Room will be open to delegates outside spoken session times. Access will be by Meeting Badge only, and a student volunteer will monitor entry to the room during the hours in which it is open, which are as follows:

Sunday 14th July 1200 to 1900 hrs
Monday 15th 0800 to 0900 hrs
to Thursday 18th July 1200 to 1400 hrs
  1700 to 2200 hrs

In case of problems, technical support will only be available from 0900 to 1700 hrs during weekdays, Monday through Friday.

Slide Preview Room
A slide preview room has been made available on campus in Cornwallis NW3. Access to the slide preview room will be first-come, first-served. For those who have not brought slide trays with them, a limited number of slide carousels will be available. These must be signed out no more than 12 hours in advance of your talk and returned immediately following your talk. Please use the locking ring on your slide carousel to avert potential disaster. Label your slide tray ahead of time with your last name, session, date, and time of your presentation. Please present your slides to the session projectionist in your meeting room 15-30 minutes prior to the start of your session.

The slide preview room in Cornwallis NW3 will open during the following hours:

Sunday 14th July 1200 to 1830 hrs
Monday 15th 0800 to 0900 hrs
to Wednesday 17th July 1200 to 1400 hrs
1700 to 2200 hrs
Thursday 18th July 0800 to 0900 hrs
  1200 to 1400 hrs

Photocopy and Fax
Photocopying and fax facilities are available to delegates in all College Receptions, and in the Parkwood Reception daily from 0600 to 2100 hrs. They are available in the Campus Shop during normal opening hours.

Lost and Found
For any items lost or found, you should contact college receptions at either Eliot, Rutherford, Darwin and Keynes, who are open from 0600 to 2200 hrs.

Blackwell's Bookshop
Blackwell's Bookshop on Campus has kindly offered delegates a 10% discount on any purchase of alternative reading material, stationery or greetings cards.

The University's Media and Communications Officer is Posie Bogan whose telephone number is +44 (0)1227 823581 when dialled from outside, or 3581 when dialled through the internal university network.

Informal Meeting Rooms
Informal meeting rooms will be available in Grimond Seminar Rooms outside the times they have already been scheduled for use. Delegates wishing to hold a meeting should enquire of possibilities and book at the Registration Desk in the Grimond Foyer.

Sports and Recreation
The Small Sports Hall and Gym is available for the use of delegates without charge. Those wishing to use these facilities should register with at the Sports Hall Reception Desk.

The Tennis Courts next to the Sports Halls are also available for delegates without charge. Sports equipment is available for hire.

The University Campus is well situated for local walks or cycle routes, either into the historic city of Canterbury or out into the surrounding countryside.

Walks, such as The Crab and Winkle Way to Whitstable, have points where the walks can be joined near the University Campus.
