Poster sessions

Posters will be displayed during two separate poster sessions. A reception for Poster Session I will be held from 17.45-19.30 on Monday evening, July 15th, and another reception for Poster Session II will be held from 17.45-19.30 on Wednesday evening, July 17th. Authors are expected to be in attendance at their posters during their assigned poster session reception. There will be a sponsored social with food and cash bar on the Monday and Wednesday evening receptions to encourage circulation around, and interest in the posters. In addition, posters will be open for viewing from 09.00-19.30 on Monday, July 15th and 09.00-17.30 on Tuesday, July 16th (Session I), and 09.00-19.30 on Wednesday, July 17th and 09.00 - 17.30 on Thursday July 18th (Session II).

As the posters will be exhibited in a central marquee where coffee and tea breaks can be taken, authors are also encouraged to attend their posters at these breaks.

Poster presenters should set-up, attend, and take down their posters according to the following schedule.

Posters will be organised by topic, and each poster in each session will be assigned to a numbered poster stand. The list of poster authors and their assigned stands will be available at the entrance of the marquee when you arrive to set up. Your poster number will also be in the programme.

You will be given two boards clipped together, each 1 metre wide and 2 metres tall. This gives you a total space of 4 square metres, 2 metres tall by 2 metres wide, which is yours to use as you wish (subject to the comments below). Please note that the only fastening permitted will be velcro (sticky hook) tags, which you should supply yourself. No sticky tape, pins or Blu-tack please!

Tips for preparing posters:

The title of the poster should be exactly the same as the abstract in the programme, with authors and institutions, to allow easy identification of your poster. Title letters should be large enough to be read from approximately 6 metres away.

Your poster should include an abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusions and literature cited. Most data are best represented with figures rather than tables. If you use tables, they should include no extraneous information. Text should be easily readable from a distance of 1 metre away. We recommend that you use the following MINIMUM font sizes:

Title 84 pt

Authors/addresses 42 pt

Section Headings 30 pt

Text 24 pt
