Welcome Reception on 14th July

At the welcome reception "Bucks-Fizz" and a selection of cocktail canapés, will be served from 19.00 to 20.00 hrs in the Marquee and on the surrounding grounds.

During the Meeting from Monday 15th to Thursday 18th July

Breakfast will be served to all those staying in campus Bed and Breakfast accommodation. (See locations below). Those delegates staying off campus or in self-catering accommodation on campus should make their own arrangements for breakfast.

Lunch
, and Tea /Coffee and biscuits during refreshment breaks, will be served to all registered delegates on campus during the meeting days, irrespective of where they are lodging. UKC will be providing all delegates with a souvenir mug, which delegates may keep and use at the refreshment breaks. If delegates do not wish to use their souvenir mug during the programmed breaks, alternative cups and holders will be available.

Receptions have been sponsored at the Poster Sessions on Monday 15th July and Wednesday 17th July. Fauna and Flora International and Blackwell Science are thanked for their support of these events.

Dinner is not included in the registration fee, nor is it programmed into a meals package, in order to allow delegates free to choose whether and when they eat on or off campus.

Breakfast

All delegates resident in college Bed and Breakfast accommodation will be served Breakfast daily from 0730 to 0845 hours. Your location for breakfast will depend on the college in which you are staying, as follows:

Conference Lunches

Lunch will be served to all registered delegates at 1215 prompt, in one of the three college dining halls. The dining hall to which you have been allocated will be denoted by the coloured circle on your delegate badge. Please wear your delegate badge at all times.

Please note for those delegates requiring an early lunch, to allow attendance at meetings and workshops scheduled during the lunch break, the dining halls will open at 1200 mid-day.

Conference Refreshments

There will be two specific morning and afternoon refreshment breaks:

Morning Coffee and Tea will be served each morning immediately after the plenary session, from 0945 to 1015hrs, in the Main Sports Hall.

Afternoon Tea and Coffee
will be served each afternoon from 1500 to 1530hrs in the Keynes Atrium Foyer & SCB Marquee

Tea and Coffee will be also available on a complimentary basis from the SCB Marquee from 1015 to 1200hrs and from 1400 to 1600hrs daily, in addition to the 'set' refreshment breaks

Wine, Beer and Soft Drinks will also be available for purchase in the SCB Marquee from 1700 to 2000hrs on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

Poster Receptions on Monday 15th and Wednesday 17th July 2002

Receptions will be sponsored in the SCB Marquee for all delegates at the two poster receptions from 1745 to 1930 hrs, on Monday 15th and Wednesday 17th July. These receptions are hosted by the courtesy, respectively, of Fauna and Flora International, the publishers of Oryx, and Blackwell Science, publishers of both the Society of Conservation Biology and the British Ecological Society's journals.

In order to encourage circulation around the posters, both receptions will include finger buffets and a complimentary glass of wine or beer, after which, further wine, beer/lager and soft drinks may be purchased on a cash basis.

SCB Drinks Receptions on Monday 15th and Wednesday 17th July 2002

The Society for Conservation Biology will host drinks receptions from around 2030 in the Grimond Foyer, for all those who have attended the International Section Meetings on Monday 15th July and for all those attending the SCB Business Meeting on Wednesday 17th July. A cash bar providing wine, beer and soft drinks will be available for those wishing to continue socialising with SCB Officers and members.

Gala BBQ on Thursday 18th July 2002

The Gala BBQ will take place outside the SCB Marquee on the lawns between Eliot and Rutherford Colleges from 1930 on Thursday evening. Food will only be provided on production of your BBQ ticket, which includes 2 complimentary drink vouchers that can be exchanged for beer, wine or soft drinks. . Further beer, wine and soft drinks can be purchased from the bar on the night.

Those who have pre-purchased BBQ Ticket/s will find them in their delegate welcome pack.

**Those wishing to purchase BBQ tickets upon arrival can do so at the Registration Desk, on Sunday, 14th and Monday, 15th July or by visiting the UKCH Conference Office in Tanglewood (near Keynes College)**.

In the event of inclement weather the BBQ will be moved to Rutherford Dining Hall.



Dinner Venues and Additional Catering

In addition to the programmed catering arrangements, UKC provides a range of catering and service outlets that will provide everything from simple snacks, through to full evening meals: -

Darwin College

Origins Bar and Bistro

Origins
is a Tex-Mex Bistro with a bar. It is open from 0930 for coffees and pastries (Monday to Friday) and from 1200 midday to 2200hrs (daily) for a full meal service. Its fully stocked bar is open from 1200 midday until 2300.

Rutherford College

Rutherford Dining Hall

A traditional cafeteria-style restaurant, serving a range of traditional hot and cold dishes. Open for evening meals from 1830 to 2200 Sunday through Thursday evenings.

Eliot College

Eliot Shop
Eliot Shop is open Monday to Friday from 0830 to 1545 hours. The shop sells a good range of sandwiches, pies and pasties, cookies and muffins, fridge drinks and general confectionery. It also sells basic foodstuffs.

Keynes College

Food2Go
Located in Keynes College, opposite Keynes Bar and situated next to the Junior Common Room, Food2Go specialises in tailor-made baguettes and jacket potatoes. It also sells salad and pasta pots, sandwiches, pies and drinks. This outlet operates both as a takeaway service and a snack bar. Open on weekdays from 0930 to 1430hrs.

Keynes Bar
Also located in Keynes College and open from 1100 to 2300hrs daily, Keynes Bar also provides a large exterior courtyard. Sky Sports TV channels and Pool tables are also available.

Keynes Travel Shop
This shop sells National Express Coach tickets; mobile and international phone cards, tobacco and stamps. It also offers a dry cleaning service. **Open from 0930 to 1600hrs Monday to Friday.

Keynes Vending Area
Situated opposite Food2Go, the 24 hour vending area offers hot and cold drinks, pot noodles, confectionery, sandwiches, yoghurts and healthy options and ice cream. Open from 0930 to 1430hrs, Monday to Friday.

The Campus Shop

The largest and most centrally located retail outlet and open from 0800 to 2000hrs Monday to Saturday, and 1000 to 2000hrs on Sundays, the campus shop provides a wide range of products and services.

Parkwood Mini-Market

A large retail outlet, providing a wide range of products and services located adjacent to the Parkwood administration building and ideally situated for all delegates resident in the "Self-Catering" accommodation. The mini-market is open from 0800 to 2000 Monday to Friday and 1000 to 1600 Saturday and Sunday.

Pre- and Post-Meeting

Breakfast
will be provided to all those staying in campus Bed and Breakfast accommodation for the period they are booked into that accommodation. Those staying off campus or in self-catering accommodation on campus should make their own arrangements for breakfast. Lunches, dinners and drinks can purchased on a cash basis at any of the catering outlets already described.
